My PM was pleasantly surprised to learn that I am actually a geek at heart and he gave me a lot of creative freedom (as long as I kept cost down) on this dream project. The Drogon-Fire knit was probably the most fun to create. I loved Dragon as a character and I think I put a little more work into him as a result. The fire fade was a new construction that the factory helped me with and the leather cage was just supposed to feel more alive than something plastic. The concrete heel cap and anodized Ultraboost sign off was to emulate charcoals he would leave in his wake. I had been looking for an excuse to use Crackle Suede on a shoe for years, never has there ever been a better time in the history of sneaker making to use Crackle Suede. I love that shoe.
